TiTi (Purple People Book 4) Page 4
It was tempting. Just like she had before, she squeezed her hand until they heard a crack. She took a deep breath.
It was dark.
No, wait, her eyes were squeezed shut.
“Okay, now open them.” It sounded like Raine.
She opened them to indeed see Raine, holding out a makeup brush as she applied makeup to her eyelids. Her mom and Aunt Marcie stood in the background.
“Titi, you’re so beautiful,” her mom breathed.
“Oh, honey, you are,” Marcie agreed. “Come now, let’s get you in your dress. Raine, her hair is absolutely glorious. And I love the painting of wings in the gold glitter over her cheek. It looks just like her wing tattoos.”
“Thank you,” Raine said.
A white, frothy concoction spread out on the bed. Titi looked down at herself. She was dressed in a slip and nothing else. The three women helped her into the fluffy gown, and then silky, white slippers were placed on her feet.
A knock sounded at the door.
“That’s your father,” her mother said, as she opened the door.
“Oh, Titi,” he said. “My beautiful stellina.” His eyes filled with tears. She ran into his arms and he wrapped them around her tight. It was the place where she felt safest. Ever since she was a baby, she could remember his big, strong arms.
The other ladies all left.
“Now, your mom will be pissed if I make you smear all that makeup onto my tux,” he said. “Shall we head down there? I’m sure your new groom is waiting eagerly.”
She wanted so badly to ask him who her groom was. But she couldn’t. He’d never believe this was her first day here.
They slowly walked outside, where music was softly playing. And as they walked down an aisle of wedding guests, she recognized most everyone there. Even Aunt Millie—wearing her crown now that she was queen—was present from her planet Quakestrarian.
Her father handed her to someone at the altar, and she looked up to see…Reese.
Reese. She was marrying Reese. Good Goddess, she felt like jumping for joy.
Handsome in his black tux, his amethyst eyes crinkled as he smiled down at her from his height. “You are so beautiful,” he whispered. “Thank you for making my dreams come true.”
“I love you,” she whispered.
He leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. She moaned softly as her eyes fluttered shut. His lips felt familiar and true. The feeling she’d been searching for her entire life.
“Hey, now, none of that,” her mother called out. “Not before the I do’s.”
There was snickering from the crowd, but Titi was lost in the kiss.
When she opened her eyes, Reese was still there. But this time, he was staring at her intently, and he wasn’t in his tux. No, they were seated on the swing loveseat of her front porch, and her face was scrunched up in an air kiss.
“You must have gone,” Reese said with a slight grin.
She nodded, closing her mouth quickly. Could that have been real? She was marrying Reese in the future?
“Wasn’t I gone from here?” she asked.
“No. You just closed your eyes for a second and when you re-opened them, you looked shaken.”
Bless him for leaving out the air kiss.
“It was my wedding day,” she shared shyly.
A smile broke across his face. “You saw it, too.”
“Too?”
“You’re mine, Titi. We’ll be married. I’ve been waiting a long time—since I was a little boy—for you to realize it’s coming and to let it happen.”
He’d have to wait even longer. This wasn’t the time frame she belonged in. Her feet tingled with needles.
“Reese.” She rested her forehead against his briefly. “I don’t want to go. But in a few minutes, I’m going to be three years old again. And I’ll be so angry with you.”
“Then do me a favor. Remind me that we’re going to get married so I can stop acting like a fool. Maybe by the time you leave here, I’ll find I already know the Macarena. Then I’ll know you fixed things back then.”
“All right,” Titi agreed, smiling. “I promise.” She would make sure he learned the Macarena if she had to make him practice it every single day of their lives. And this time, she kissed him.
When she opened her eyes, the world was different again.
“What are you doing, sitting in the grass by yourself and scrunching your lips up with grass in that pretty white dress?” Uncle Bajoc said, lifting her up as she squealed. “Don’t you remember Aunt Joy and Uncle Rojan are coming back today? They said they’re bringing presents.”
“Ya! Dice. And a dolly for me. Not for Weese, though.”
“Is he being bad again?”
“Yesss.”
Up ahead, she saw several of the grown-ups kissing her Aunt Joy and hugging her Uncle Rojan. And Reese, the little squirmy worm, was standing around watching her come down the path with his daddy.
Uncle Bajoc put her down when she wiggled, wanting to run ahead to see Aunt Joy. She had something important for her, something she’d kept in the pocket of the same dress she’d been wearing every single day since Aunt Joy left so she wouldn’t lose it. Losing it meant Reese would have to go and work for a long time to buy her another one. Somehow she knew that.
“Aunt Jo-Jo,” she screamed, running as fast as her legs could carry her. Aunt Joy held out her arms as wide as she could, and caught her, laughing as they both tumbled to the grass.
“Hi, hon-bun,” Joy said. “How have you been? Are you staying away from eating grass?”
“Uh, huh,” Titi confirmed, then wiped the remnants from her mouth. She stuck her sticky hand into her pocket and pulled out the tiny egg, handing it back to her. “I cared for it. I sowwy, I only bwoke it one time. But see? All fixed now.”
Uncle Rojan squatted down to look at the egg in her hand. “It broke?” He grinned, ear to ear, as he looked at Aunt Joy. “What secrets did you learn, hellion?”
“Aunt Joy makes pwetty babies with lots of hair.” She leaned in, and grabbed a lock of her hair, rubbing it between her fingers. “This color!” she yelled excitedly. “Three grils and two boys. They go to that school.” She pointed to the school yard. “Oh, yeah! Aunt Millie Fanilli is the Queen of the munchkin mans.”
Then she stood up, brushing the dirt off the knees of her striped leggings. She’d missed these. She would wear them every day until she grew up, because she wasn’t wearing them in that other world. She shook her head sadly. Obviously her tastes would change and not for the better.
Then she took off running after Reese. “Weese! You hafta marry Titi!” she yelled, chasing him down. She wouldn’t stop until he agreed. “Weese!”
At the top of the hill, Reese stopped, turned around, and did a brief dance of the Macarena—as if he showed off for her.
The fact that the grown-ups were laughing behind her didn’t even matter.
Space Babies
Book 1
Rena Marks
An antiquated ship, rotating through the galaxy of a deserted planet, bears immediate investigation.
Helian Six boards the abandoned vessel to find the long-lost inhabitants in a state of stasis. But the systems are failing, and half a dozen have woken up. The planet below shows long dead bodies, poisoned by the scum of space, a species known as Gorgians.
Strangely, the few who have awakened are much smaller than their planetary predecessors. And not very intelligent. Determined to believe the cute, tiny beings are not pets, the crew of Helian Six decide to train the small warriors to defend the planet. They become the laughingstock of patrol, however, after they commit and realize it will take twenty-two cycles to “rear” the inhabitants.
So they do what any intelligent males would do. Kidnap teachers. And if the females can’t manage to avert their eyes from their buff physiques, well, score!

Helian Six has it m
ade. Their own planet, lifemates, and kids. Not bad for a species who were born in vats—to emerge full grown with designated careers dependent upon specifically implanted personality traits.
What used to be friendly competition has turned into jealousy, and everyone is scrambling to be accepted onto their planet to live the good life. Now, the Helian Six crew, with their updated promotions, can afford to be picky about who goes or stays.
However, a personal request from the Supreme Commander has all but ordered acceptance of a new breed of female. The leader, with her steadfast ways, nurturing heart, and fuzzy unibrow, has caught the Ambassador’s finicky eye. The poor crew members of Helian Six have been warned to give these refugee females everything they may need.
Unfortunately, they can’t share with their moody mates why they’re giving extra attention to the hairy bunch.
Baby Butterfly Kisses
Book 3
Rena Marks
The mates of Helian Six are protecting the refugee Puritans hiding on the planet Hesprii by pretending they are their visiting human cousins.
The males of Helian Six have welcomed a bounty hunter crew from their home planet of Freijia who have a mission to either return, or destroy those same Puritans.
Conflict wreaks havoc on the planet unless the males and females of Hesprii can keep the predators and prey separated. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of room for separation when the snipers fall for the ladies hook, line, and sinker.
Nor when the ladies decide to find poor fools to lose their virginity to.
Alien Stolen
Rena Marks
Our world is different from anything we’ve ever known. Years ago, aliens came to live among us. They claim to be the good guys, and yet every day, humans go missing—never to be heard from again.
Sian and her family resist the leadership of the new regime, along with dozens of other factions across the world. However, without electricity, they’re at a loss as to how to communicate with each other to band together for strength in numbers. For that reason, they fight alone. When her father and best friend are captured by the military, she pretends to be a pleasure worker to infiltrate the base. Unbeknownst to her, a pleasure worker has been summoned to service a new breed of alien—one with a known weakness. Sex drains his strength.
None of the militia realizes that when a Nisibian comes across his mate, he doesn’t lose his power…but instead transfers it to her.
Drunk on the power of being a female Rambo, Sian decides to steal the massive alien for herself. This much power at her fingertips could tip the scales in the resistance fight for humans.
Artificial Intelligence
Rena Marks
The Sirian galaxy has blown itself up during a war that mimicked that of the destruction of her own planet, Terra. No stranger to slavery, Arian has escaped from the planet Zeta where she’s been raised to breed royalty.
The Artificial Intelligence is a collective unit from the Sirian Planet B. They’d warned the leaders that a civil war would destroy the galaxy to no avail. In order to escape being destroyed along with the rest, they inserted their intelligence into the computer system.
Imagine Arian’s surprise when she encounters a huge piece of chipped planet, which her computer claims to have ancient Sirian artifacts buried in its hollowed core.
Nothing can possibly be alive. The contamination gases from the nuclear war have destroyed everything in sight. But Arian is a scavenger, and these are ancient artifacts…
Unfortunately, her hacked computer never tells her the artifacts are actually metal skeletons whose bodies need to be grown into dangerously hot men.
Abducted
Book 1 in the Blue Barbarian series.
Alien abductions are real.
I was the third female awakened aboard the spacecraft that specialized in kidnapping females. Their mission? To sell us to other galaxies.
Human female Numbers One and Two didn’t make it, but I was lucky. I was able to comprehend the instruction from Drakar, a caged abductee from the planet Blaedonia. I live only because of his warning to me not to fight the aliens who have me on the table. Together, we formulate a plan for escape for both us and the ten other unawakened Earthlings.
Lucky for Drakar, the spaceship crash-lands back on his planet. Unlucky for the Earthlings, we’ll never be able to travel back home.
We’ll have to learn to adapt.
Niki’s Story:
Suddenly my shackles tingle, the sensation shooting down my arms like a spark of electricity. But it doesn’t hurt, or feel uncomfortable. It feels kind of…nice.
In a strange way.
“I can see you, though, little human. I have night vision that your species does not.”
I lick my lips. It doesn't seem fair that I've never seen Drakar, but then he blows warm breath on my neck, and suddenly it no longer matters.
“How do you like to be touched?” His touch skims across my lower abdomen.
Goosebumps race across my skin and it’s not from cold. It’s instantaneous and it’s weird, but it's sexy. Either he’s a master seducer, or the shackles on my wrists are doing something strange to my libido.
I writhe. “Drakar.”
“Niki.”
“These bracelets are doing something to me.”
“I know. I feel it, too.” His voice exudes sex. “I want you.”
“What’s happening?”
He groans. “Your arousal seduces me.” His breath is heated, and his body temperature feels suddenly warmer.
Stargazer Series
In 1692, a starship carrying volunteers arrived on planet Earth near a small town called Salem, Massachusetts. The long journey across many light years caused the female inhabitants aboard drastic memory loss. It was already known when they would arrive on Earth, they would have no memories of who and what they really were. They would be as helpless as newborn lambs.
The goal was to breed with Earthlings, to prevent their own race from dying out. If it was successful, years later more Stargazers would be sent to co-exist with the humans on Planet Earth.
But alas—the females were slaughtered.
