Siren (Genetically Altered Humans) Page 4

Tilting her body backward, pressing the hot, wet heat of her pussy against the bulge of his erection. Goddess, he was on fire. This was delicious need, a hot, primal demand forcing him to do his body’s bidding.

Her arms wrapped around his neck, her fingers threading through his hair, locking him against her just as tightly as he cinched her to him. Her thighs clamped against his sides like a vise, and suddenly she rubbed herself—right on him. Right on the hyper-sensitive bulge that threatened to break free. That wanted so badly to fill her, to thrust into her honeyed cunt, to thrust into her again and again until they both came so many times they’d melt together.

His tortured groan filled her mouth. Lily answered with a gasp.

Jason’s hand slid down her spine to grip her ass, helping her to press tighter as he ground against her, harder and harder. His tongue thrust, over and over, past her lips, devouring, searching, exploring—burning with every penetration. Showing her the rhythm of penetration, teaching her what pleasure should be like. Trying to mentally communicate that this was what his cock should be doing in her body.

“Get this off,” she whispered, sultry and demanding, arching her back to thrust her nipples at him. He never thought about refusing, all he wanted to do was please her. He worked the plastic hook at the back of her swimsuit until it snapped free and her breasts spilled out.

Her skin was delicate, almost translucent. Creamy and forbidden, but he so desperately wanted a taste of the fat nipples reddened with arousal, reminding him of plump cherries. Goddess, to give her such pleasure by worshipping her, making her feel so good...

He bent his head and captured one, swirling his tongue around it, barely aware of the glow that emitted from her skin, lighting the water around them with a bioluminescence. Something wrong triggered in his brain, but for the life of him, he couldn’t figure what. All he knew was this incredible need; he needed to sink his cock into her depths with an unbelievable urge. He needed to make the first move to make them one.

His heartbeat sped up. The water felt heated as if the temperature had been raised within the last several minutes. The glow around her spread, filling the water with an eerie light.

He reached down between them, rubbing a finger over her swimsuit, across her slit. Her mouth opened, a small careening cry of lust and need. He smiled slightly. A finger was so much more controlled. He tapped it against her clit and her need broke on a small, keening cry.

Her back snapped, her body jerking in response to the orgasm that washed over her, muscles twitching in the uncontrollable throes of climax. Her eyes closed, pleasure wreaking havoc over her beautiful features. Her first orgasm was magnificent to watch, her nipples puckering and the taut muscles over her lower body clenching as if they gripped an invisible cock.

And then nothing. Her glow stopped, her features relaxed as if sleeping and he pulled her to him, afraid she’d sink under the water. She curled onto him like a sleepy cat.

“Lily?” His voice sounded loud in the pool, and now it felt cold. Cold enough to shrink his dick.

She was passed out. What the hell happened? Goddess, was none of it real? It had to be, the throbbing in his cock that lessened each second screamed reality. He moved toward the stairs, carrying her up into the warmth of the sunlight, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around her. Quickly he hurried into the elevator shaft, wanting to get her home.

He was of the upper class scum. He held an unconscious beauty in his arms all the way down to their apartment, and had to shift his uncomfortable dick to walk.

He felt more like scum when he laid her in her bed, ran a scanner over her to make sure she was all right, and then headed to his shower to jack off his need.

  Chapter Four

Lily woke slowly, in the jumbled state she’d grown used to. It took several moments for her mind to adjust from sleep to wake, to become aware of consciousness, of make-believe, of reality. Where was she? This was her bed, not the table in the lab.

So the safe house with Jason wasn’t a dream. No, this...reality...was real.

The lab hadn’t been a dream either. She’d determined that in other wakened phases.

But how had she gotten here? She couldn’t remember last night. Or today. Hell, times were all jumbled in her mind. She no longer slept for blocks of night, so it could be five minutes from when she’d last fallen asleep. They’d done that to her, the scientists from the lab who’d kidnapped her. They’d messed up her sleep/wake cycles, and it left her memory fuzzy, unaware of past or present, day or night, reality or make-believe.

Where had she been last? Swimming. Swimming with Jason. He was teaching her how to swim, to float. Was that a dream?

No. It had been too amazing to be a dream. Held so closely in his arms, feeling so much of his naked, naked skin. The muscles in his chest, his arms. She’d begun to feel heated, her temperature rising. All she knew was how much she wanted. She took a taste of his lips, and then she was lost. And then...nothing.

There was a big, black hole where she wanted to replay the events. Oh, hell, it had been nothing more than a lustful, teenage dream. She must have reverted to her younger self while in the pool, passed out and had the wet dream. She’d ruined the entire lesson.

“Jason?” She flung back the covers, noting she was again dressed in his T-shirt. He’d seen her undressed more than once, of course. He frequently slipped his shirt onto her to sleep. He was sitting on the balcony, getting up to come to her when she met him halfway.

  “Lily? You’re awake.”

“What happened? I woke up in your shirt. Did you drown me and I don’t remember?”

  “You don’t remember anything?”

“No. Just a swim lesson...and then nothing.” She refused to share the details of her dream-kiss with him. He’d consider her a pathetic teen, and while right now she wasn’t, she had no guarantees that she wouldn’t be five minutes from now.

“You passed out.” He shrugged, his eyes shuttered. “Either I wore you out or you needed the sleep. Your heart rate was steady and your breathing fine. I tucked you into bed.”

“Well, I’m starving. Other than the memory loss, I feel like I rested. Maybe I’m coming back to normal?”

His smile was tight. “Get dressed. I’ll make us sandwiches after I send a quick email.”

She nodded, spinning on the ball of her foot to walk away from the tanned god.

JASON WATCHED HER WALK trustingly back to the bedroom with a heavy heart. He’s almost taken advantage of her, and she had no idea. He couldn’t call Robyn to notify her of the happenings because Lily might hear. But he could email. He sat on the sofa and pulled up a light-infused keyboard.

It was easier to send the scenario in an unfeeling email anyway.

Gave Lily swim lesson. She began to glow, much like she had during the television interview when she told her stories. This time the glow was much brighter than before and culminated in her passing out. She just woke and can’t remember anything that led up to the glow scene. She just remembers the lessons.

Now was the hard part. Taking responsibility for his own actions.

It was my fault she went into the glow trance. She’s a normal teen, with hormones but stuck in an adult’s body. She kissed me, and I allowed it. I’ll know better next time.

She did kiss him, and he should have shoved her away. He admitted that he allowed it. What he didn’t admit was how badly he wanted it, or that it led to other water-play. They didn’t need the details, they had the gist of it. What was important to focus on was her loss of consciousness after the glow.

Hell, after her orgasm, but there was no way in hell he was letting them know that he gave Lily her first climax.

He sent the email as is, shame clouding him until he finally shook himself, standing to head to the kitchen to fix their sandwiches.

“Shawn said he’d show me how to make an egg salad sandwich,” Lily babbled, following him. Her voice was lighter, bouncier.

  Younger.

He looked at her with concern narrowing his eyes. She seemed to flip back into the teenage persona, and he was beginning to know exactly when it happened.

She laughed, carefree and lighthearted. “Robyn had shown a couple of the guys how to make grilled cheese. Shawn thought I could one-up them with a delicate egg salad like the chefs prepare. Then he said it’s on to bigger and badder things, like a barbecue beef sandwich that every man will thank me for.” She grabbed a bag of potato chips from the pantry, still babbling. “I can’t wait to learn how to cook actual foods. Instead of just sandwiches. I’m going to watch and learn next time you make one of those omelets. Did they teach you that in the military, Jason?”

“Yes.” His voice sounded normal as he tried to figure her out. It was as if the mature Lily who’d wandered into the bedroom had been replaced with the girl he’d loved before the kidnapping. The problem was with him. He loved both of them.

“Not that I have anything against sandwiches, mind you,” she said easily, chomping a chip she held between green tinted fingertips. “But one day when we get back to Xenia, I want to surprise everyone with how much I’ve learned.”

His short bark of laughter was filled with double entendre. She’d learned much more than she realized. But it flew over Lily’s head. She grinned at him, grabbing her sandwich and digging in.

“Oh, so good. You must’ve been a cook in the military!”

  “Not quite, cupcake.”

“You know what I want to learn how to make? Quiche.”

  “Fancy egg pie? Whatever for?”

“Because it sounds so fun to say! Keeeesh. I’d like for people to know I have fancy manners and can eat fancy food when I grow up.”

He didn’t have the heart to remind her she was grown up. “
Hey, fancy manners don’t make you a better person. While you were kidnapped, we all had the honor of meeting Robyn’s mom. Trust me, it was awful.”

“Tell me everything.” Wide-eyed, Lily chomped her food.

“She was simply horrified that Robyn loves Steele.” He made air quotes in the air.

“She was? What’s she look like, huh?”

“Very fancy, expensive clothes. She wears a little veil over her mouth, a symbol of social status. She goes around with a manservant who carries her purse, Lily.” He leaned in. “Her freakin’ purse.”

Lily started to giggle, and damn if it wasn’t deeper than her normal voice. He was beginning to see the signs of when her personality switched. The inflections of her phrases, the richness of her voice.

“I kid you not, she deliberately messed her hair when she thought Robyn was miscarrying Kaden. So she could appear worried...but she didn’t want to mess it too much. She just wanted it to look artfully displaced.”

“How did you all keep from laughing?”

Definitely, Lily’s tone was lower, signifying her adult voice.

“By watching her on the camera later. I didn’t have the pleasure of seeing her in person. But she was talked about for days afterward, and we kept looping the feed to watch. The guys at the front gate had the best time with her. I guess Steele made her go through a pat-down, pretending the scanner was faulty. He’d seen her look at his hands with disgust because he has four fingers.”

Lily sobered, lifting a hand. “I wonder what she would think of my webbed fingers and green fingernails.”

He grabbed the hand she was holding out, fingers spread. He brought it to his mouth and kissed it. “She would think it’s beautiful, precious. Just like I do.”

He never wanted her to think there was something wrong with her.

“Now, she would never say so,” he grinned. “Because she’d be horribly jealous. She’d just find a plastic surgeon later, to see if he could inject a natural-looking dye into her nails...”

Lily burst into laughter, squeezing his hand. “Tell me about the baby. You said Robyn’s mom thought she miscarried?”

He nodded, still holding her hand. Her skin was so soft, her bones delicate and seemingly fragile. “Turns out, the Essassani that Steele descends from must have had an extremely short gestation period, way back when they were able to procreate. Robyn went into labor during her mother’s visit and she was only thirteen weeks along. That’s considered a miscarriage by human standards. But Kaden is alive and well, though he’s small enough to fit into a purse.”

“I can’t wait to see him.”

“You and everyone else. Robyn and Steele had to set some rules, like whoever changes Kaden needs to wash out his diapers and clothes. Otherwise, people were changing him all day long.”

Lily laughed. “He’s a real live doll.”

“He’s definitely a fascination. And right now, a big secret. No one knows about him.”

“I don’t feel so bad for my own secrets then.”

“And what do you have to feel bad about, Miss Lily-pution? Your lack of ears? The diamond that’s bigger than your nose?”

“Quit announcing my secrets,” she teased. “I’m a woman of mystery.”

Oh, a woman she was. A fine woman, indeed. He let go of her hand to finish eating but wished he could still hold it. He was acting like a lovesick teen. It was Lily who should be acting that way, not him.

They’d just finished eating and were still bantering back and forth as they cleaned up their plates when the computer chimed.

“Go ahead,” Jason commanded out loud, in the general vicinity of the ceiling where the loudspeakers were located.

“Incoming call from the front desk.”

“Name the caller,” Jason said sharply. No one knew where he was, save the crew at Xenia. And they certainly wouldn’t call through the front desk.

“Counselor Sherrilyn Becker of Iota Nine. Status: personal relationship.”

Jason narrowed his eyes. He motioned for Lily to get underneath the vidcam on the wall where she couldn’t be seen.

  Wide-eyed, she scrambled into place.

  Jason spoke. “Put her through.”

It was just a second before he said, “What do you want, Sherry?”

“Darling. So nice to see you.” Her eyes darted around the room as if she tried to make out his location. It was curious, since she called him. Unless...

“How did you know where I was?”

“You’re not the only one with resources, Jason.”

He didn’t say a word. Lily stared, wide-eyed. But he couldn’t let his gaze fall on her and let Sherry know someone was with him.

“Relax, darling. It was a chance accident, really. There was no undercover conspiracy theory. It was rather brilliant to hide out in the open. For sure. But you see, we have an upper edge.”

  “We?”

Jason’s voice was mild. She was trying too hard to bait him. She had no idea where he actually was.

“We, as in the citizens who are concerned about a missing child. Well, the rest of the world wonders why she’s gone missing. Me, I’m more concerned with why she hasn’t been returned home. Why she’s holed up with you.”

Jason snorted. “Why shouldn’t she be? She’s my charge. Which you would know if you had sources and secret contacts inside Xenia like you claim.”

He deliberately antagonized her, trying to give her a bit of wrong information to see if she ran with it. It worked.

“Yeah, well your charge is all grown up, isn’t she? Should a strong, virile male such as yourself really be alone with such an impressionable...voluptuous innocent?”

Lily caught her gasp behind her hand before it fully escaped.

Jason’s demeanor changed. She knew. Sherry knew what they’d done to his Lily. Suddenly his pretense at being conciliatory dropped. “If you so much as come within ten feet of her, I’ll rip you apart with my bare hands.”

“It’s a federal offense to threaten a counselor for the Government.”

  “Prove it.”

There was complete silence for several long, tense moments as Sherry was tested.

Jason continued on. “I will flay you alive for knowing where she was held. For being present where she was held.”

  “Jason, I had no idea—“

“Don’t lie to me! I will blast your relationship with Crested Ute Laboratories all over the media. Your career”—he sneered the word—“will reach the point where you have to go into hiding with your friends.”

“Fine? You want the truth, darling? You’ll hear the truth, and I’ll bet your little girlfriend is right there listening. Tell her to watch herself, because you’ll tire of her just like you do all your toys. Tell her not to bother waiting for a ring on her finger, because you’d rather stick it in her nose. Tell her—“

Jason disconnected the call with one word. “Abort.”

Lily held still, underneath the vidcam and against the wall where the screen sat.

He sighed, slowly unclenching his fists. “Don’t listen to her, Lily. She’s a raging bitch.”

“I’m not afraid of you, Jason. I never have been. I never will be.”

He relaxed somewhat. In that, Sherry failed in her attempt to ostracize Lily. But Lily remained in her position near the wall.

“Jason, can you get in trouble for threatening her?”

“No, Lily. Don’t worry. I was simply calling her bluff. She has no idea where we are. She pretended to know; to call the front desk and be patched. But it’s a technology I knew the government was working on, though I didn’t know it was in use. It’s a blind call, traced through a laser tower. Several people were tricked into answering and it was a crapshoot that she would get my vidcam. She has no idea where we really are located.”

“But what if it was recorded?”

“That’s the beauty of blind calls. They’re easy to manipulate. No one would believe a recording was real, nor would it be held up in a court of law. She has no IP address to prove it was me on the other end.”

  Chapter Five

Lily’s swimming lessons were moving along nicely even though it had only been a week. She was superb at moving underwater and faster than he’d ever seen. Her entire body moved up and down as she held her arms still next to her body, slithering like an eel riding the waves. It seemed to be a natural way she swam, and he didn’t bother to encourage her to use her arms.
